Our Five-Star General experiences are special educational events we offer with preset dates. Please reach out to our Director of Education via the form below with any questions and to begin the process of booking a visit to the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center. All student field trip levels are priced the same no matter the length of time spent with us.

Special Educational Event – Beyond the PagesÂ
Join us for a reading of the children’s book The Making of a Hero by Linda Moss Mines along our gallery timeline. Special guests, Lesha Everett and her cast of puppets, will be here to engage students (recommended Pre-K – 2nd Grade) in learning about the heroic deeds and noble character of those who have received our nation’s highest military award for valor – the Medal of Honor! Join puppets Ledo, Sally, Carriona, and others as they explore how to exhibit the character values associated with the Medal of Honor at home, school, and in their communities. Participate in related and short educational activities in the Johnson Education Center if time permits.
We here at the MOHHC know the importance of building literacy skills in this early age group and the need to engage students in the learning process. This event is aimed at both supporting literacy development and making the history of the Medal of Honor, the stories of local Medal of Honor recipients, and the six character values (courage, sacrifice, patriotism, commitment, integrity, and citizenship) associated with the Medal more accessible to little ones.Â
Please make group reservations as far in advance as possible. Advanced reservations are required to receive a group discount. Groups require 10 or more paying visitors. The discounted student rate is $7.95 for all ages. The driver and one adult chaperone for each 10 paying students are admitted free. Please plan to pay in full by cash, check, or credit card on arrival. Checks should be made payable to See Rock City which manages the ticketing for the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center.
