OVERVIEW

This VIRTUAL Teacher Workshop is aimed at providing educators with resources, supporting early literacy development, and making the history of the Medal of Honor, the stories of MOH Recipients, and the six character values (courage, sacrifice, patriotism, commitment, integrity, and citizenship) associated with the Medal more accessible to little ones. You’ll learn about the heroic deeds and noble character of those who have received our nation’s highest military award for valor—the Medal of Honor—and gain access to ready-made materials aligned with state standards. Our 2025 Teacher Fellows have crafted a FREE classroom resource bundle to complement our children’s book—The Making of a Hero: Six More Stories of the Medal of Honor—and you’ll participate in several of the accompanying activities.
