Bricks of Honor purchased before the February 10 deadline will be dedicated at this upcoming ceremony.

Our keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Retired U.S. Navy Captain Mickey L. McCamish. Captain McCamish is a Chattanooga native, graduating from Chattanooga public schools and a 1965 University of Chattanooga (UC) graduate. After UC graduation, Captain McCamish began his twenty-seven-year Naval career by entering U. S. Navy Officer Candidate School (OCS) and being commissioned an Officer of the Line during February 1966 ceremonies.

During his Naval career, he served on numerous ships in various positions, served as a Surface Warfare Officer, and commanded numerous units that included Military Sealift Command Offices (Israel/Lebanon), Cruiser/Destroyer Group 104, and the Naval Telecommunications Program (worldwide).

Captain McCamish served in Vietnam between 1967 and 1969 and received several Letters of Commendation. Upon retirement, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Award, the second-highest peacetime award.
