Celebration of Valor Luncheon

Join us for this years COV Luncheon

We are excited to have you join us for our annual Celebration of Valor Luncheon on October 23. The Celebration of Valor has always been more than just a Luncheon. This year we are turning the Luncheon into a multi-day event that provides more impactful and memorable experiences for students and our sponsors. This transition includes a new venue that offers an unparalleled opportunity for our sponsors and guests to immerse themselves in the heart of our mission – the Heritage Center itself. With this change, we aim to provide enhanced access to the rich history and inspiring stories of Medal of Honor Recipients. Guests will have a chance to explore exhibits inside the Heritage Center and interact with our educational programs, gaining a deeper appreciation for the significance of the Medal of Honor and the values it represents

This year’s speaker for the Celebration of Valor events is Medal of Honor recipient, Britt Slabinski. Britt Slabinski, a U.S. Navy SEAL, was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan on March 4, 2002. As a Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator, Slabinski led a reconnaissance team that came under intense enemy fire after their helicopter was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade. Despite being vastly outnumbered, Slabinski organized a daring counterattack and led his team in a heroic effort to rescue a stranded teammate. Throughout a grueling 14-hour battle on the snow-covered mountaintop, he repeatedly exposed himself to enemy fire while coordinating air strikes and providing cover for his team. Slabinski’s extraordinary leadership and valor in the face of overwhelming odds were instrumental in saving the lives of his teammates. His distinguished Navy career spanned over 25 years, during which he deployed multiple times and earned numerous decorations before retiring as a Master Chief Petty Officer.

Proceeds from the Celebration of Valor support the Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center and its ongoing efforts to implement the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Character Development Program in our area schools and community centers. These and other Heritage Center’s educational programs are specially designed to reinforce the six character values (Patriotism. Citizenship. Courage. Integrity. Sacrifice. Commitment.) and help others learn how they can emulate these values to face and overcome challenging times and make a lasting, positive change in our society.

More information about sponsoring the Celebration of Valor and ticketing will be available soon. For all other questions, please call the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center at 423-877-2525 or email development@mohhc.org.
