Join us online for a very special, free Zoom event on Saturday, October 22 at 12pm EST!

Historian and author of “Hero on the Western Front: Discovering Alvin York’s WWI Battlefield,” Michael Kelly will join historian (and our Interim Executive Director!) David Currey for a conversation about Alvin York and their expedition to locate where the famed Tennessean’s Medal of Honor action took place.

Both Michael and David were a part of this incredible expedition, but York’s story recently gained traction in national news due to the controversy surrounding Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate, Doug Mastriano’s disputed dissertation and his own expedition to find this fabled location.

“Michael Kelly is the Director and owner of Apollo Battlefield Guide. An associate member of the Guild of Battlefield Guides is also a member of the Western Front Association. A university-educated British historian, Mike has been guiding on the battlefields of the Great War for nearly eighteen years. Prior to this, Michael served for twelve years in the Royal Navy, followed by twenty-five years as a police detective in the CID, with specialist appointments in surveillance units and the Regional Crime Squad.”

Come learn more about York, the expedition, and the full story behind it all!

Watch it here!
