About this event

Over the course of this 6-hour workshop, The Tennessee State Museum intends to equip teachers with knowledge and materials designed to help as they teach the Reconstruction Era to Tennessee’s students.

Highlights of the Professional Development include:

  • Accurate content and background knowledge
  • Classroom activities and materials designed to meet Tennessee state standards
  • An exploration of the State Museum’s newest traveling trunk – The Three Rs of Reconstruction: Rights, Restrictions, and Resistance
  • An overview of free classroom resources offered by the Tennessee State Museum

We are looking forward to working with teachers across the state to better understand this important time in Tennessee’s history.
