National Medal of Honor Heritage Center on the Passing of Retired Army LTG Don Rodgers

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Charles H. Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center recognizes the passing of long-time board member, supporter, and friend, Retired Army Lieutenant General Don Rodgers.

Both Don and wife June Scobee Rodgers have been valued supporters of the Center’s National Advisory Board since 2014, and most recently, through the Scobee and Rodgers families, facilitated the contribution of the Dick Scobee Space Medal of Honor to the MOHHC exhibit gallery.

Chairman Emeritus, Maj. General William Raines, US Army (Ret.) stated, “From his commissioning at Tennessee Tech, Don Rodgers served his country with distinction as a 2nd Lt. to a Lieutenant General. He served in Vietnam and was a long time Board member of the MOHHC. We will miss his steady hand.”

General B.B. Bell, US Army (Ret.), concurred with General Raines. “We’ve lost a truly great Tennessean, incredible military general officer and leader, dedicated husband and father, and one of the most important founding supporters of our National Medal of Honor Heritage Center.  Army Lieutenant General Don Rodgers signaled (and, yes, he was an incredible communications/signal general officer!) the very best of our American experience.  May God rest your soul, sir.”
