The next Bricks of Honor Dedication Ceremony is Saturday, November 9, 2024!
The deadline to purchase your Bricks of Honor for the next Dedication Ceremony is Saturday, September 28!
Our Bricks of Honor are not just pavers but a unique and meaningful way to honor those who have made an impact in all our communities. By purchasing a brick, you can etch their name, dates, and service onto the commemorative brick that will be beautifully displayed in the plaza in front of the Heritage Center. Consider purchasing a personalized brick to honor a veteran, an active service member, a business, or anyone who has made a lasting impact in your life.
When you participate in the Bricks of Honor campaign, you are not only honoring a loved one but also supporting the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center’s vital mission of preserving and sharing the stories of our nation’s Medal of Honor recipients, the brave individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary courage and selflessness in the face of danger.
Veterans Day Dedication Ceremony
Our keynote speakers for this Veterans Day dedication ceremony will be three distinguished veterans sharing their unique stories from different eras of military service, spanning from the Vietnam War to the Global War On Terror.
Key Speakers
Lonnie Kent
Lonnie Kent served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967 with the 1st Cavalry. He comes from a big military family with his dad serving as a Marine and his two brothers who also served in the Army. He is also the brother of the Center’s own board member, June Scobee Rodgers. Lonnie was awarded the Silver Star for a battle that occurred in Bong Son and we are excited to hear about his service.
Daniel Anderson
Daniel Anderson served in the Marines from 1990-1994 as a Military Policeman. During this time, Daniel played a critical role in the War on Drugs, where his expertise led to assignments with the FBI, NCIS, and local law enforcement agencies. He has a diverse career and experiences to share about his time in the military and after.
Gray Ramsey
Gray Ramsey served in the Marines from 1995-2007. Gray deployed to Iraq as part of Mike Battery in September 2004. Part of his duties there was to provide artillery support for Operation Phantom Fury and the 2005 Iraqi Parliamentary elections during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
We are excited for all three of these gentlemen to share their stories with you during this special Veteran’s Day Brick Dedication Ceremony. Veterans Day is a special day on our calendar where we get to recognize all those who serve our country, and all through the years we have special reminders of how great of a country we have to be protected by the men and women who serve in our armed forces.
